Perth's Best Coffee By The Beach
It's a bright Perth morning and I'm standing on the grassy Sorrento foreshore, staring at the perfect, perriwinkle blue, sky offset against the aqua tones of the clear sparkling Indian Ocean. Could it be any more perfect? I think to myself.
Yes.
Yes it could.
Me - "Siri, Coffee Near Me"
Siri -"Here are the 10 Best Cafes in Hillarys"
Instantly, I have a list of the 10 best coffee shops on the beach in Perth ... but are they?
Are they really the best?
Did Siri sit down and compare caffe lattes over lunch. Did she nibble on the biscotti and order babycinos? Or is this just a list of the biggest coffee shops on the beach. The same multinational, corporate coffee chains you find in every shopping centre, main street or airport - with the most Google reviews, but not the best Google reviews.
Here are the real best hidden coffee shops in Perth.
From the mouth of a picky local, who has the energy and time to do an in-depth and longitudinal study on these things ;) Because we all know that coffee reviews are as much a science as they are an art, right?

1. Alley Cats Coffee - Hillarys Boat Harbour
This hidden little gem gets our No.1 vote for best hidden coffee in Perth. Tucked on the harbour side of Sorrento Quay, as a side hustle for the owners of Luna and Sol Fashion, this little takeaway coffee store has the perfect smooth coffee and tasty home baked local treats, essential at 8.30am in the morning.
We found this little place one day on our early morning walk, and after trying another coffee first (from another hidden little coffee shop, that was so burnt and bitter we had to throw it away) this place was the heaven we needed. It doesn't have seating but it does have front row views of the harbour. |
2. Chopin Patisserie - Sorrento
This place is so popular because the locals know a good thing when they are onto it. Sure, coffee is just a side to the pastries and sweets, but its damn good and it comes with doughnuts!
This is the perfect place to drop into while taking a little walk along the beautiful coastlines around Sorrento Beach. Check out their giant sausage rolls or dive into some yummy flaky flans, you can't wrong. And its service with a smile, which we love too. |
